Event: Intuition of Shoetsu Yanagi@The Japan Folk Crafts Museum

Yesterday, I visited the Japan Folk Crafts Museum in Komaba, Meguro, Tokyo. The museum opens the event, 'Intuition of Shoetsu Yanagi'. Shoetsu Yanagi (1889-1961) is the founder of folk craft movement in Japan. He collected hand-made crafts such as rice balls, tea cups, tables created by anonymous people.

As a philosopher, Yanagi claimed that real beauty does exist in our daily lives of the common people. He depended on his intuition rather than words and logic to find out 'hidden' masterpieces of folk crafts.

Unfortunately, taking photos inside the museum is prohibited. However, I hope you will enjoy traditional Japanese architect and garden. You will feel something from the photos.
