Event: Human-Information Technology Ecosystem

Two day ago, I attended the symposium, 'Human-Information Technology Ecosystem' hosted by Research Institute of Science and Technology for Society (RISTEX). This symposium was held at the International House of Japan in Roppongi, Tokyo.

The theme of this event was this:

'Will rational judgment by artificial intelligence (AI) really lead emotional people to prosperity or utter destruction?'

This theme is still controversial in Japanese academia and publish industry.

The lecturer and participants of panel discussion were professors of Japanese prestigious universities, the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Waseda University and Keio University.

While listening to the lecture and discussion, I felt it's no doubt professors of these universities are academically excellent. However, I wondered why they were discussing this theme.

The reason is I already compared human experts with AI in terms of the process of learning and thinking. Based on theories in cognitive psychology and educational studies, I proved the fact that AI researchers cannot simulate human intuition and learning from personal experience. Indeed, humans have unique intuition and learning process.

In the beginning of this month, President Junko Nara and I attended an open seminar at one of the most famous universities. We listened to the lecture by a top Japanese AI researcher. In closing, the researcher told,

'Humans belong to animal. Likewise, human are AI!'

When we heard this remark, President Nara suddenly awoke from dozing and seemed to be perplexed.

As I wrote in my previous Japanese book, mechanical materialism has been pervaded and dominated in modern academia and society. However, I denied this perspective in the book. In short, humans are NOT machines.

Moreover, AI researchers cannot instill human intuition and thought processes through programming. Their understanding are based on brain-neuroscience. Brain-neuroscience researchers regard brain and neuron as materials.

Therefore, we can NEVER expect singularity in 2045 -Singularity means AI will surpass human intelligence completely.

Probably, anyone do listen to me and trust me even if I claim my points.

What is mind? What is intuition? -The biggest hints (rather, answers) lie in oriental medicine. My research project will be beyond cognitive science and western medicine.
